Hello everyone, my name is Emerson Max Metcalf and I arrived on August 07, 2007. Thats me and Daddy on the right there, handsome ain’t I? (I am the small guy with the hair).
My Daddy said he got me a domain name for a website which is what you are looking at right now and he is hosting it on his own server space. Its funny that I have two names and they are both the same, my domain name is the same as my real name, but there is really only one of me. It might be confusing with two things called Emerson Metcalf, but Daddy says he knows a lot about web stuff, so I guess he knows best… So Emerson Metcalf with a dot com (EmersonMetcalf.com) is my website and Emerson Metcalf is me. I wont ask Daddy too much about websites because I don’t even know what a spider is yet, but I am sure I wont like them!.
Anyway, a bit about me. As I said, I ‘popped’ out of mummy’s tummy on August 07, 2007 at 15:46. I weighed in at 8lbs 7ozs. I was 51cm long and my head was 35.5cm in diameter. Mummy said she had an epidural and that she was glad she did. I am just glad she had me, she is the bestest mummy in the world. Daddy said it was the most amazing thing he had ever experienced when I ‘popped out’ and he wouldnt want me to tell you this, but he had a few tears in his eyes.
In case you are wondering, Daddy said my name comes from a famous ex Formula 1 driver, Emerson Fittipaldi (I cant even pronounce his last name…). Mr Fittipaldi won 2 World Drivers Championships back in the 70’s (thats a long time ago isn’t it!) and he won the Indy 500 in 1989 and 1993 (he must have been old and wrinkly by then!).
Before I was born and when I was just a bump in Mummy’s tummy, I was called Little Louie. I wondered if Lewis Hamilton who I hear is also an F1 driver was the inspiration for that name, but Daddy said it wasn’t and that the story behind Little Louie is a long one that he will share with me one day when I am older.
Anyway, here you will find a blog that me or mummy and daddy might post to from time to time and a photo gallery (Daddy said to mention the photo gallery uses AJAX, whatever that means) that will be added to over time.
